Project steps:
Organized in various towns across Madeira and Porto Santo
Young leaders and decision makers meet for a final conference where they share their opinions about possible efforts for the biodiversity conservation in Madeira and agree on a plan of action.
How it started:
This initiative is a follow-up to the cooperation between young participants of the Biodiversity Illustrated Project and the My Madeira Island association. We took the inspiration from the book “Carrying the Seeds of Life” which introduces the concept of the Council of All Beings, and we took a creative approach to it.
What we discovered:
The biodiversity of Madeira is unique and has a special place on the global map. However, with the current industrial and touristic load, the flora and fauna of our archipelago is suffering and needs a joint effort from all of us. Young people need to take action because it is our land and our future. United, and with an open democratic dialogue with decision-makers we can make ourselves heard.

MY MADEIRA ISLAND is a non-profit association that aims to support Madeira Island's social, economic and cultural development via social innovation projects. We achieve this by organizing events and actions for young people and adults, at the local and international level.
